I Need You

Salvation

Today, we hear plenty about anti-business and anti-rich movements, and protests against those who accumulate wealth. Protesters make demands that the rich "give their fair share!" It's as though these people really believe that the rich owe them something just because those people are rich.
The fact is, it isn't within my right to demand anyone else do anything with the things they have! They worked for, and earned it. It isn't mine! I may not force anyone to "give back to the community," as though they had taken it from others.
What their mindset amounts to is selfishness! The lazy will always seek ways to steal from others, and too many politicians know that they can get votes by making promises to "soak the rich" for them!
God calls us to depend, not on the things of this world, but upon Him, and His promise to provide for all our needs, as we seek first His Kingdom and His Righteousness! It is a much better way to live, more conducive to peace and plenty, to live in community with God and others of like mind. Christianity is an individual faith, and a corporate practice. It is the corporate practice that gives life to the individual faith.
Imagine a wider Christian community, broader than our local church, with people giving as the Lord prospers them and sharing the things which they have in abundance - from a willing, cheerful heart! We could share as each is blessed with plenty, out of free will and cheerfully, not by compulsion! Nobody would have unmet needs!
If the evangelical Christian churches were to develop a network, across denominations, within a wider area than each church alone could possibly reach, it could happen! It would happen!
What is more important, it would be easier to reach the community with the Gospel, transforming lives with the Good News of Jesus Christ! As the churches share the load with each other, as the Spirit of God moves us, the Outreach ministries of all the churches would never lack! In time, whole communities would be transformed!
It will only happen, though, as Christians adopt the Spirit's call to Unity in Christ to the glory of the Father!

This is a confession!

Knowing that Jesus loves me, gave Himself for me, is coming again to receive me to Himself, and wants me to live forever with Him in Heaven, is just too awesome for me to realize!
